During the weekend of the 14th and 15th of March our oldest Scouts took part in their Expedition Challenge Award. This was the final badge they required in order to earn their Chief Scout Gold Award and involved hiking for a number of hours and spending the night camping. All Scouts that were involved took part in planning their route, organising their kit and all other details of the challenge. They then set off using their map reading skills to reach their destination and following the route card they had previously planned out. After hiking for 6 hours the Scouts made it back to their campsite and pitched camp, they used their equipment and survival skills to make their dinner before sleeping and heading back to the hut for collection the next day. Following a presentation of their weekend all that took part will have achieved their Expedition Challenge Award and therefore their Chief Scout Gold Award. Well one all, the group are very proud of you.
